Soft, chewy, and crunchy caramel bars! It's the same thing, but with almond Flakes or cashews instead. It's perfect for dessert, a snack, or whenever you go, you can pack this for yourself, friends and family too!


Ingredients

•Egg yolks
•Brown sugar
•Vegetable oil
•Vanilla extract
•Condense mlik
•Milk powder
•All-purpose flour
•Baking powder
•Salt
•Almond flakes

Ingredients

•6 egg yolks
•¾ cup brown sugar (or white granulated sugar)
•1 cup vegetable oil (or softened butter unsalted or salted)
•1 tsp vanilla extract
•1 397 grams can condense milk
•1 cup milk powder
•2 cups all-purpose flour
•½ tsp baking Powder
•¼ tsp salt (remove if using salted butter )
Toppings
•½ cup almond flakes – add more if needed (cashew nuts, ground peanuts, chopped walnuts)


Step-by-step Instruction

STEP 1
Preheat the oven to 180°C/356°F. Line 14in. x 10in. Set aside a baking pan lined with parchment paper.

STEP 2
In a mixing bowl, use a hand mixer or a wire whisk to beat the egg yolks until light and pale in color. Then add the sugar and beat until well combined.

STEP 3
Mix in the vegetable oil and vanilla extract again. Pour in the condensed milk and mix quickly until all of the ingredients are well combined. Mix in the milk powder until no traces of milk remain.

STEP 4
Sift the flour and baking powder in a separate bowl with a strainer.

STEP 5
Fold in the dry ingredients in two batches with a spatula until no flour remains. 

STEP 6
Using a hand mixer, quickly beat until smooth. (NOTE: If you overbeat the mixture, the caramel bars will be tough/hard.)

STEP 7
Pour the caramel batter into the prepared pan and sprinkle with almond flakes. 

STEP 8
Bake for 40-45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean. Good luck!



Tips for the best results.

To get chewy and soft caramel bars, don't overbake.

If you don't want hard/tough Caramel bar, don't overbeat the ingredients. After folding in the dry ingredients, use a hand mixer to combine them for a few seconds.
