HOW TO BAKE VANILLA CAKE

In my previous blog, I showed you how to bake a chocolate cake, complete with chocolate buttercream frosting. The next thing I'll show you or teach you is how to bake vanilla cake.

But like what  I said in my previous blog, I am not a Professional Baker, I'm just sharing with you guys the knowledge that I have when it comes in baking, and what my sister taught me about baking. Hope you liked it!

Again, First, we must prepare the tools we will need, such as the cake pan, mixing bowls, mixer, whisk, measuring cup, and measuring spoon, followed by the ingredients.

VANILLA CAKE

This delectable cake is incredibly simple to make and uses ingredients that you most likely already have on hand!

 Ingredients 

•All purpose flour or cake flour
•Baking Powder
•Baking soda
•Salt
•Butter
•Sugar
•Egg
•Buttermilk
•Vanilla extract

•3 cups all-purpose flour or cake flour
•2 teaspoons baking powder
•1 teaspoon baking soda
•1 pinch salt
•1 cup butter softened to room temperature
•2 cups sugar
•4 large eggs at room temperature
•1 cup buttermilk at room temperature
•2 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract


Step-by-step Instructions

STEP 1
Preheat. Preheat oven to 350ΒΊ F.

STEP 2
Prepare the pans. Coat three 8 or 9-inch cake pans with softened butter, line with a piece of parchment cut to fit the cake pan, brush the top of the parchment with more softened butter, and lightly flour the pans and parchment.

STEP 3
Dry ingredients should be combined. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Place aside.

STEP 4
Butter and sugar should be combined. Using an electric mixer, cream the butter. Then stir in the sugar. For another 8 minutes, cream together.

STEP 5
Add the eggs. Mix in the eggs one at a time until just combined.

STEP 6
Alternate between wet and dry. Mix in one-third of the flour mixture until thoroughly combined. Mix in half of the buttermilk until thoroughly combined. Repeat with another one-third of the flour mixture, then the buttermilk, and finally the remaining flour mixture, mixing well after each addition.

STEP 7
Add the vanilla extract. Mix in the vanilla extract until well combined.

STEP 8
Distribute and bake. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the edges of the cake come away from the pans and a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean.

STEP 9
Cool. Remove from the oven and set aside for 10 minutes to cool in the pan. The cake should then be carefully turned out onto wire cooling racks and left to cool completely.

STEP 10
Frost. Frost the cake with Chocolate Buttercream Frosting or any other frosting of your choice.


If you recall, I previously demonstrated how to make chocolate buttercream frosting in my previous blog. You can also do this to improve the flavor of your vanilla cake. But for you to see it again, I will put here again the steps and the ingredients on how to make a chocolate buttercream frosting.

CHOCOLATE BUTTERCREAM FROSTING

Ingredients  

•1½ cups butter softened
•1 cup unsweetened cocoa
•5 cups confectioner’s sugar
•½ cup milk
•2 teaspoons vanilla extract
•½ teaspoon espresso powder

Step-by-Step Instructions

STEP 1
In a large mixing bowl or the bowl of a stand mixer, combine cocoa. Remove any lumps with a whisk.

STEP 2
Cream together the butter and cocoa powder until well combined.

STEP 3
Add 1 cup of sugar and 1 tablespoon of milk to cocoa mixture. After each addition has been combined, turn the mixer to high speed for about a minute. Repeat until all of the sugar and milk have been added.

STEP 4
Add vanilla extract and espresso powder and combine well.

STEP 5
If the frosting appears too dry, add a tablespoon of milk at a time until it reaches the desired consistency. If it appears wet and does not hold its shape, add more confectioner's sugar, a tablespoon at a time, until the desired consistency is reached.
